Comparison with wood charcoal 🌿
1. Heat Output:
Calorific value of around 7,000-7,500 kcal/kg
Traditional wood charcoal 4,000-5,000 kcal/kg.
This makes coconut charcoal about 30-50% more efficient in heat output.
2. Burning Duration:
Coconut charcoal briquettes have a denser composition, allowing them to burn for 2-3 times longer.
3. Environmental Impact:
Coconut charcoal is a byproduct of coconut production, making it a renewable resource. Wood charcoal often comes from trees cut down specifically for charcoal production, contributing to deforestation.
4. Residue and Smoke:
Coconut charcoal produces less ash (around 5% ash content) and significantly less smoke compared to wood charcoal, which can have ash content upwards of 10%.
